Auflage des von Prof. Dr. Wilfried Umbach herausgegebenen Werks „Kosmetik und Hygiene von Kopf bis Fuß“ enthält erstmals auch die Definition und Bewertung von Cosmeceuticals sowie Informationen über neue Erkenntnisse in der Altershautforschung und die Herstellung von Parfümölen. Neben der historischen Entwicklung der Kosmetik und den kulturellen Einflüssen auf die Kosmetik werden Themen wie Gesetzgebung, Anwendungsgebiete kosmetischer Mittel, kosmetische Wirkstoffe, Wirkungsnachweise, die Verträglichkeit kosmetischer Mittel, Herstellverfahren, Qualitätssicherung und Umweltschutz behandelt.
